iPhone 6 Release Date and Big Problems With Its Apparition
As the release date for the much anticipated iPhone 6 produced by Apple continues to approach, the hype is growing even stronger by the hour. The newest rumor involving the Apple device suggests that iPhone manufacturer has addressed a major issue reported by customers about the previous installments in the iPhone series.
The issue in question is the phone’s battery life. In a survey put together by WalletHero, 97% of those who responded said that the thing they want the most from the new Apple iPhone 6 is better battery life. It seems like Apple might not be indifferent to its consumer’s needs, and might have addressed this issue, so the battery life in the new iPhone 6 could be improved from the previous versions.
In support of this possibility comes the G4Games report via Weibo that Chang Xu declared (citing her sources) that the battery for the 4.7 inch iPhone 6 will be a 2100 mAh unit. Regarding the 1800 mAh unit seen in earlier leaked pictures, she said that it was just a battery used for testing purposed, and that the battery that made the final configuration has 2100 mAh. Chang Xu is the News Chief Analyst at ESM-China.
This contradicts the earlier reports from Forbes, claiming that the 4.7 inch iPhone 6 will sport a 1800 mAh battery, which is still bigger than the 1560 mAh battery found in previously in the iPhone. According to Forbes, the 5.5 inch version of the device will reportedly sport a 2500 mAh battery.
Even though the upgrade to the 2100 mAh unit is a clear improvement and step forward, it’s still a relatively small battery compared to the units used in the devices made by Apple’s competitors. The Motorola Moto X has a 2200 mAh battery, while the Nexus 5 has a 2300 mAh battery. The HTC One M8, The Samsung Galaxy S5 and the Sony Xperia Z2 all take it even further, with 2600, 2800 and 3200 mAh respectively.
Apple’s iPhone could save some battery life through its operating system as well, as it is reported that the new iOS 8 operating system will feature a battery saving mode, the kind that Android devices have been rocking for a very long time now.
iPhone 6 Specs
Both the 4.7 inch and the 5.5 inch versions of the expected iPhone 6 are presumed to feature the sapphire crystal glass technology for their displays, but with different resolutions. The 4.7 inch will reportedly have a 1900×1280 resolution, with a 440 ppi pixel density, while the bigger model might have a 2272 x 1280 resolution and a 510 ppi pixel density. Both versions are set to include an A8 chip and an 8MP camera on the rear. Optical Image Stabilization and Flash are among the reported features for the phone’s camera.
iPhone 6 Release Date
Although Apple hasn’t given an official release date for their new device just yet, heavy rumors suggest that it will be announced in September. Mac Rumors found out that the date of 16 September was used for the phone’s announcement and 14 October for the release date at an Apple Retail Store meeting. The cited store leader reportedly said that it will be a big day for Apple as well.
Internal documents leaked from German carrier Deutsche Telekom suggest a September 19th release date.
