iPhone 6 Release Date for Its 4.7 and 5.5 Inch Variants Confirmed

The latest rumors from Asia are saying that the iPhone 6 release date for September 2014 is going to only have the 4.7 inch version and not the 5.5 inch model. The 5.5 inch one will be available a few months later.

DigiTimes also have said that the 4.7 inch version will be released on the confirmed date, while the 5.5 inch one will be released a little later.

The same report from DigiTimes said that the delay of the product is not caused by manufacturing problems. The delay of the 5.5inch model is actually a strategic move from Apple. What they want to do is release them at different dates so they won’t compete with eachoter.

Apple is making this move because they did the mistake of releasing two products at once in their past. In 2013 Apple released the iPhone 5S/5c, and the products competed with each other, making the 5S sell better than the 5 C.

While many people speculated about the delay of the devices, no one actually knew what the exact date was for the release of the 5.5 inch version.

The only analyst that has a solid opinion about the release date of the 5.5 inch iPhone 6 is Ming-chi Kuo of KGI Securities. He said that the estimated time for the release considering shipment figures is January 2015.

Also, related to Apple is that they want to include the iWallet in the next iPhone 6 launch, said The Information. Apple is negotiating with their partners about the iWallet. Apple’s iWallet will be the competitor for “Google Wallet”.

The A8 processing chip made by the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company(TSMC) is looking better, being the power behind all the 2014 edition of Apple devices and it will surely be installed on the new iPhone 6.

Another report from the DigiTimes says that TSMC will supply the CPU requirements for Apple in 2014 and also 2015. Regarding the A8 and A9 processing chips, Apple will become the biggest revenue generator for TSMC.

The release date for the iPhone 6 will probably begin in mid-September 2014, after the public issuance of the iOS 8 GM.
