Motorola Moto X, Moto X+1 with Android L Guide and Installation
The release date for new Android updates is different for every device, depending on the device model itself, and the company behind it, as some tend to release the newest Android build very fast, while others seem to have no problem with taking their time. The latter doesn’t seem to be the case for Motorola, as an executive for the company confirmed the released date for the upcoming update for the operating system, called Android L. The release date for this update may, once again, vary depending on your region and network.
The confirmation for the Motorola Moto X Android L rollout came from none other than Motorola’s executive, Punit Soni. He confirmed the update by addressing an issue on Google+, where one user has inquired about the possibility of Motorola releasing the update for the Moto X. The Motorola official simply replied in the comment section “Yup”, thus confirming that the Moto X is in line to receive the update.
The interaction between the users and the Motorola executive, Punit, didn’t stop there, as he got involved in another user’s statement, in which he said that AT&T customers will probably have access to the Android L update by the Google who releases Android N. To this, Punit replied that it’s sad that things are this way, and that Motorola is trying to speed things up. Several users suggested that Motorola should work on allowing their customers to manually update their devices, without having to wait for the carrier’s rollout. Motorola still has a lot of rollouts to work on. The Android L update for the Moto X is expected to arrive somewhere between Fall and the end of the year.
According to DroidLife, Motorola is also preparing to release a new smartphone, called the Moto X+1. Although their website had no further details on this subject, they stated that, according to their sources, the new device will be released by Motorola under Verizon on September 25th.
Speculated specifications include a Snapdragon 800 processor, 2 GB of Ram, a 1080p, 5.1 inch display, 32 GB of internal memory, and of course, a camera, which is set to feature 12 MP. The battery that will be supposedly sustaining all these specs is a 2900 mAh Li-Ion unit.
Another speculated detail regarding the still mysterious Moto X+1, is the fact that its release date may coincide with that of another Motorola branded device, the Moto 360.
