Print Files Using Your Android Device
Android users are always asking how to print pages using their Android devices. Now that Google Cloud Print has been released we can just directly from our Android devices using Wi-Fi connection, that way we don’t need to use the PC for printing stuff.
The best feature the Google Cloud Print brings is that it works on all printers, not just one specific type. It’s very simple to send files to print using your Android, just the setup might be a little tricky. You will need to use a “Cloud Ready” printer, for example a printed that is already connected to Wi-Fi, you also need to use Google Chrome. If you don’t have a printer that can connect to Wi-Fi it’s ok. You can still print things using your Android, the only problem is that you need to connect your printer via USB to a turned on laptop or PC.
The Google Cloud Print is a standard feature of the Android Kitkat 4.4 version. If you have it the setup goes like this : enter Settings, check if the printing option is on. If the printing option is on, all you need to do is go to options and tap “Cloud Print” to switch it on. Usually Androids have different interface’s from each other, so we cannot know exactly were the menu location or words are on your specific Android.
In case you don’t have the Printing Option in you Settings, or if the service is not pre-installed, you can just go to Google Play and download the app from there, and you can add another printer from there.
After you will select “ add printer” from the menu you will get redirected to Google’s Cloud Print web page ( or to Google sign up page, if you are not signed in on your Google Account).
The install setup for the app is very simple, the Cloud Print web-page might seem complicated at first but all you need to do is follow the steps for your specific printer, for example an offline model or a Cloud Ready printer. And after you choose what type of printer you have Google will tell you that you can use the App and that you are signed in with your Google account.
Now you can go select the file that you wish to print and in the options menu you should have the option “Print”.
If you are looking to print your text messages, the simplest way to do this is to use apps like the SMS Backup & Restore. What this apps does is that it stores your SMS messages to your phone. You can just backup what text message you want to print, and then just navigate to where the text has been saved, enter the option menu and select “Print”.
I think that it is worth mentioning that the Google Cloud Print is FREE to use. The Cloud print is a very useful app to have, making it so that you don’t have to use “middle-man” devices to print. The Google Cloud Print supports: pdf, jpg, jpeg, docx, ods, xls, xlsx, ppt, odp, txt,doc and also xps.
