Samsung Galaxy Note 3, Grand 2 and S4 Mini Guide for Android 4.4.2 KitKat
Google’s firmware, the Android 4.4.4 KitKat has started coming to a lot of devices on the tech market, but there also companies that didn’t even complete their Android 4.4.2 OS update – like Samsung. Samsung has yet to complete the update to devices like Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy S4 Mini and Galaxy Grand 2 and the company is planning to rectify that.
An insider from Indiaobtained has leaked a document which shows all the devices that Samsung is completing their Android 4.4.2 KitKat update, so they can move further to the Android 4.4.4 one. The list consists of the Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 Duos, Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini, Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3, Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo and Galaxy Mega 5.8.
The document further reads that the Dual SIM versions of the Galaxy Grand 2 (a.k.a. SM-G7102) and the Galaxy Mega 5.8 (a.k.a. GT-I9152) have already obtained the update and the other are to follow. There is no mentioning about the single SIM versions getting the update. Some people are saying that the update will be brought only in India, but most likely after the first roll out starts in India, the update will be available in other countries as well.
We see in the leaked document that Samsung has first tested the Galaxy Note 3 with the new update, and while it works great, we will actually see the firmware only on the Galaxy S3 (a.k.a. GT-I9300). Also, the South Korean tech giant has finished the testing period of Galaxy Mega 6.3 with Android 4.4 just last May and is going to include Russia as one of the first countries to see the update (or so says NDTV). There have been some speculations about Sammy giving the Galaxy S4 Active the update also, but this depends on only the region and the network of the users.
While Samsung is working on a deal of things right now, we can only wait patiently for the update to be available worldwide. Keep your eyes open for any update on the Android 4.4.2 KitKat version coming to these handsets.
