This app looks promising with its claim of “the camera app that’s got it all”. Lets take a look at the features to determine it.
Zitrr camera released today(Rootwork is the company behind this app), has features such as filter your eye sight, effects to spice up, switch lens to switch views, shooting modes for all, gallery and sharing options.
With Filter your eye sight, the filters are applied live and you can capture it with that filter. It’s unclear how the filters are selected automatically. But it looks like it indeed has a default filter on and when you move from one after another, that one gets activated. The filters are,
Say you change the filters as you see through the camera, this feature is a good one, that lets you take pictures with filters on the fly. This is something new. I am so eager to try it.
It’s sad that I don’t have an iPhone, but apps like this will make me get one soon. With that said I am awaiting this app to be released on Google play to try it first hand and then maybe talk about it in detail.
With the plethora of pre snap effects, there are the same amount of post snap effects as well.
I am getting confused here, with effects already applied when clicking, why do you need it after clicking a picture? maybe try it both ways – effects before click and after click.
Zitrr answers to my question. The effects are to give it an artistic finishing touch.
Effects in Zitrr Camera contain exactly what is required to give an artistic touch to your perfect photos. With the unique Effects, you can try sketch effect on your photographs, enhance the contours of the figures, or give it an embossed feel.
So what are these effects? Comic , Crude, Feather, Haze, Intense, Lomo, Lux, Old Paper, Pastel, Poster, Sketch and Toon.
That concludes the filters effect.
Now, lens! This is also confusing as there are pre click effects, post click effects and a lens effects. This is like serious effects there!
You can choose from a list of lenses to see how the camera sees the reality. For example an pre-click effect with a different lens would look like the image on the right. Looks great. Also it isn’t that confusing at all, when you grasp these features.
So, here are the list of lenses available,
- Oval Shift
- Tilt Shift
And now, the last photography feature is the shooting mode, to save a picture from getting blurred and to handle phone shakes. This is one feature you would see in a camera, Zitrr brings this to iPhone, a pretty smart one, I would say. In fact you can select the shooting mode to scan a barcode, that’s even great. So the available shooting modes are,
(again a list, but this is the last one)
- Big Button
- Barcode & QR Scanner
There is also the timer, this shooting mode is what a modern phones now a days should have, as this brings the goodness of camera and ties in with features for smartphones.
All the photos however you took it, rests on a tiled gallery to pick one from it to tweak with even more effects or geo-tag them, or take a look at the meta tags. This screen is where you will be importing or exporting pictures and what? Sharing! All this photo creation work doesn’t end with sharing it on Google plus, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Flickr, Instagram.. and more. Yes you can share it on instagram and let people wonder where do I get this filter?
Overall, after going through the features one by one, and even without trying this app out, Yes I know I should get an iPhone or maybe people at Zitrr can send me one for this review I conclude this app has indeed got it all for a camera app.
The app is updated regularly with more goodies and I don’t think I can say it’s enough already, I got more than I asked for.
You can get this at itunes here, https://itunes.apple.com/US/app/id605284740
